FREE Health Advice Consultations

Because we want our customers to be healthy in body and spirit we have teamed up with two Professional Health Care Specialists. They have agreed to offer their services FREE for one morning a month within the shop.

Caroline or Mary will give you a preliminary consultation lasting about 15 minutes or so (depending on how many other people are waiting to see them). You can talk to them about any health problems whatsoever – please bear in mind that due to the nature of the shop being open as normal complete privacy is not always guaranteed.

These consultations are proving to be very popular so it is a good idea to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Medical herbalists are trained in the traditional knowledge of herbal medicine, and also in modern medical science. They are skilled at using western medicinal herbs in treating people with a wide range of conditions. Diagnosis and treatment are holistic, treating the underlying cause rather than just the symptoms, and herbal medicine is suitable for everyone from the newborn to the elderly. Herbalists understand drug interactions and often prescribe alongside conventional medicines.

The medicine itself is derived from the entire part of the plant, making a gentle remedy without unwanted side effects. Herbs are usually taken as tinctures in water, or dried to make an infusion, or sometimes in preparations to apply to the skin.
